I can't do polls, but I have a question.

First off, no, I don't want a sub so I CAN do polls.
My question is this: Is it okay to own the roms to games like Mother 1, games that are really old and forgotten and in some cases, were deemed unprofitable to release salewise, without owning the game "offically"? Before I get bashed, here's my situation: First off, most of my roms are either really old and forgotten, like Shatterhand and Tombs & Treasure, or translated japan-only titles, like Live-a-live and Mothers 1&3. Secondly, I have taken a personal pledge to delete the roms and buy the offical versions should they be released on VC or otherwise.
